DuPage, Cook & Kane County

Painters & Remodelers in Bartlett, IL

Bartlett straddles three counties — DuPage, Cook and Kane — which is unusual for a village its size. The old center sits around the Metra depot on the Milwaukee District West line, and the subdivisions built through the 1990s and 2000s run west and north from there toward the open land around Pratt’s Wayne Woods. Route 59 gets us most of the way up from Bolingbrook.

Those newer houses are tall. Two-story gables, high garage walls and second-floor trim make most exterior work here an access problem before it is a painting problem, so staging gets planned first. The original builder paint on trim and shutters tends to give out on the south and west faces first. We also do interior repaints, flooring, drywall and window and door replacement, all quoted free.

What the work usually involves in Bartlett

Local housing stock decides what a project really needs. Here is what we plan for in this area.
  • Working at height

Gable peaks, dormers and the wall above a two-story entry are where exterior paint gets skipped. Reaching them safely takes extension ladders and planks set on protected ground, and it takes time. We price that honestly rather than quoting a cheap number and brushing only what can be reached from the ground.

  • Open land, open exposure

The subdivisions on the west edge of town back onto open ground, so wind and sun hit them with nothing in the way. Caulk joints, window trim and west-facing siding wear faster there. Sealing those joints properly is what keeps the next repaint on a normal schedule instead of an early one.

  • Houses near the depot

Around the old downtown there are smaller frame houses of a different era: narrow siding, wood windows, a front porch and trim with real profiles. Those take scraping and spot priming by hand. Inside, they bring plaster repair and tight rooms that are worth updating rather than gutting.
